About
- Swierzy, Waldemar
- Waldemar Swierzy (b.1931) is the centerpoint of the Polish Art Poster Movement that defined contemporary Polish art during the later part of the last century. Bold, original, provocative, brilliant. For more than half a century, art lovers have treasured the work of legendary poster artist Waldemar Swierzy. His ever-evolving style transcends tradition, bringing a revolutionary approach to portraits of jazz greats and notorious gangsters. His designs are often shocking, unusual concepts, utilizing a myriad of styles: folk art from the 50s, pop art from the 60s, portraits from the 70s, & TV images from the 80s.
