Swamy, Shri

Born in a 1944 in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Shri Swamy received his fine arts training from his father, Shri V. Venkateswarlu, also an artist. He passed higher grades in free-hand outline, model drawing, painting, and interior decoration. Sri Swamy received a M.A. in political science and a post-graduate diploma in journalism, as well as a diploma in advertising and public relations. Shri Swamy has also received a number of awards; he was honored by the Andhra Association and Andhra Educational Society of New Delhi in 1982. He was also honored by Smt. G.T. Tumen Bava, External Affairs Minister of Kirgia, USSR, and Minister of Cultural Affairs for British High Commission, British Council Division, Robert Arbuthnott. For his outstanding contribution in the field of fine arts, Shri V. V. Swamy was honored with the Ugadi Puraskar 1998 by the Delhi Telugu Academy, which was presented to him by the Vice President of India. Shri Swamy’s name was recorded in the 1993 edition of the Limca Book of Records.
