Pericoli, Matteo: Born in Milan, where he was educated at the Polytechnic School of Architecture, Pericoli moved to New York City from his native Italy in 1995.
Several years ago the artist made two 37-foot-long pen-and-ink drawings, one of the East Side and one of the West Side of Manhattan. Random House turned the two drawings into the double-sided fold-out book "Manhattan Unfurled" in 2001. He continues to "work big", drawing the Central Park skyline into a meticulous panoramic measuring 32 feet long and 14 inches wide, entitled "Manhatten Within" and also published by Random House.
