Alayna Magnan is a native of Arizona.

As a young entrepreneur, Magnan had by age nine, begun to sell her own custom designed and painted jewelry, bags and T-shirts.

Magnan attended high school in Colorado, where she won a Promising Young Artist Award and other scholarships to be recruited by the art department of the College of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here, Magnan earned a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art, concentrating on various disciplines like advertising and marketing, to fine art and graphic design. In 2003, Magnan departed New Mexico to work in Los Angeles.

Currently, Magnan works in advertising, teaches art, shows her work in various galleries and shops throughout Southern California.

In addition to Barbie Dolls and Disney Princesses, Magnan's style is highly influenced by the classic pin-up, comic book characters, tattoos, and graffiti.

Magnan’s primary mediums are watercolors and ink, but she also frequently incorporates colored pencils, markers, gouache and acrylics.

Magnan’s subjects are generally pin-up style women with shapely curves and cartoonish figures. Her figures are often scantily dressed and frequently sexually suggestive.

Magnan is a perpetual student of the female form, she remains convinced that her characters convey the strength, sex appeal, individuality, attitude and inner beauty of the contemporary young woman. She has cited as some of her artistic influences: Glenn Barr, Olivia De Berardinis, Walt Disney, Junko Mizuno, Takashi Murakami, George Petty, Hajime Sorayama, Katsuya Terada, Alberto Vargas, and Ashley Wood.
