The Merry Pranksters first discovered this unique painting technique high on LSD in 1964 while traveling across the United States in his psychedelic bus Further (or Furthur). The bus got stuck in the mud in Arizona right after they took their first LSD of this famous "trip" (as written about by Tom Wolfe in the Electric Kool-Aide Acid Test). They frolicked in the creek bed and played in the puddles while waiting for help getting the bus out of the mud. Some oil paint was dripped into one of the puddles of water...and ohhh....oooo....it looked goooood as it floated and spread on top of the water...so they added other colors. Soon they had mixed and swirled many colors together till it was quite psychedelic then they decided to dip objects into the melee...and discovered "PRANKSTER ART"!!!
