I wanted this piece to be uplifting to look at. Something people would look at, read and take to heart. I chose the words "Breathe" and Grow" to represent the two things that I think are most important about the soil and air. Breathing is essential to one's well being and taps into one's chi. Grow has more of a dual meaning. Growing and harvesting is one of course, but growth as a human charged with preserving this world is another. So the short-winded explanation is, take a deep breath, look around and grow as a person by protecting what we have.
The Mayan Figures moving upwards in the background represent life force moving from the earth into the sky. The flying eyeball represents the "all seeing eye of the Creator" watching us.
– Jeff Wood one of three pieces for Hip Hemp Posters- the others are by Emek and Gary Houston.
