Inspired by watching his two and a half year old son as he discovers the world, Christian Clayton set out to address the learning plateaus each one of us goes through on our way to adulthood. Clayton's oil and acrylic paintings incorporate historical and contemporary images of children from all cultures with his own forgotten memories of childhood. He mixes in a little animal imagery and found objects to create a world of folklore and morality tales which interpret and rearrange a child's perspective of life, death, religion and storytelling. The exhibition will feature collaborative works with his brother, Rob Clayton. Christian Clayton is a graduate of Art Center and is currently an instructor there. This is Mr. Clayton's fourth solo show at La Luz De Jesus.
