All numbered prints in the first numbered edition have been signed boldly in pencil by ALL 'Big 5' artists: Rick Griffin, Alton Kelley, Stanley Mouse, Victor Moscoso & Wes Wilson.
'Artists Rights Today' or A.R.T., was a short lived project to try to legally aquire copyrights the poster artists had signed away back in the 60's. With this particular campaign they wanted back the rights to the old Avalon Ballroom - Family Dog dance-hall posters. San Francisco promoter Chet Helms, the proprietor of Family Dog Productions, had & still maintains the rights. Ostensibly the artwork was sent around to each artist to do part of, it is considered a collaborative artistic 'Jam' and the print is credited to all 5 artists.
