hand-colored print of Mark Twain by Ralph Steadman
A charcoal image of the great american writer Mark Twain by RS, faithfully rendered through the silk-screen printing process, at exactly the same size as the original, by master printer Joe Petro III at his studio in Kentucky. The 30 prints were shipped to England where artist Ralph Steadman then coloured each print by hand, creating an 1/1 original out of each one. The artist soaked oak-chippings for a whole Huckleberry Summer in rain water and fortified the weathered flesh tones with Mississipppppii mud scraped from the boots of good ole boys. That last claim may be a piece of the artist's own poetic licence, but the result is that each print is unique and beautiful.
