Friday, May 26th: Seppuku Tattoo's One Year Anniversary Party

Special Guest Jeff Wood.

Jeff Wood is a vanguard concert poster artist, having created visual eye candy in the form of screen printed poster art, album covers, & collectables for bands like 311, The Dead, The Allman Brothers, Audioslave, Phish, Dave Matthews, Green Day, Patti Smith, Hank Williams 3, Reverend Horton Heat, Widespread Panic, The Black Crows, PJ Harvey, Les Claypool, Flogging Molly, and countless others. His work for High Times magazine has included several magazine covers, plus posters for the prestigious Cannabis Cup held annually in Amsterdam, where Jeff presides as a celebrity judge.

After decades of service to clients that ranged from the WWF to Harley Davidson, Jeff opened his own print house, the Drowning Creek Studio, in Commerce, GA. Build in a refurbished slaughterhouse, Jeff's work became the pinnacle of fine art printing, his techniques were the first to mesh computers and screen printing together, his work and magazine articles on his progress inspiring an entire generation to enter into the field, and Jeff has published & curated work of artists such as Coop, Frank Kozik, Alan Forbes, Stanley Mouse, Mark Mothersburg, Rich Biffle, Mikio Kennedy, Jermaine Rogers, Darren Grealish, Jeral Tidwell, Dave Gink, Jason Goad, James Decker, Ralph Waters, Dave Crossland, Hoffa, Durb Morrison, Johnny Thief and Dethrone.

Drowning Creek has taken a number of awards, including the Independent Music Awards Best Band/Venue Poster for his String Cheese Incident and Government Mule posters, has done video posters for MTV2, and has been shown in Hard Rock Cafes globally, and in galleries from Germany to Australia. The body of work appears prominently in a number of best selling books, including the Art of Modern Rock: The Poster Explosion, Schwag, Electric Frankenstein, Rocking In Time, and in magazines such as High Times, Spin, Giant, Metal Hammer, and Relics.

Jeff will be the special guest at the Drowning Creek Art Gallery, a low brow art collection of DCS work displayed for the first time in a brick and mortar storefront, located inside Seppuku Tattoo. Owners Johnny Thief and Matt Lukesh invited Jeff for their One Year Anniversary Party, celebrating their first year of raising the bar on canvas, paper and, of course, on skin, bringing a new level of excellence to these so called low brow arts for the first time to Savannah.

Jeff will be on hand to meet guests and sign posters, books and collectables, including a special limited edition screen print to commemorate the event. Live music will be provided by local DJs, and food and cocktails served all night.
