The 'Like Father' image of Bush Sr. was originally created as an illustration for an Opinion Editorial piece on The Gulf War back in 1992 at the beginning of my career. It appeared in the now legendary Seattle rock magazine called 'The Rocket'. The art director at the time was none other than the infamous poster artist/ graphic designer, Art Chantry. The Assistant Art Director at the time also went on to great things, Jeff Kleinsmith- poster designer and part owner of 'Patent Pending' as well as Art Director for Sub-Pop
The new image 'Like Son' was recently created as a counter part to my 1992 illustration. The historic relevance of the 'Bush Dynasty' and legacy of war and greed just couldn't be passed up. You can still see my style in the 1992 illustration but you can see the massive growth of my work looking at the 2006 version side by side all these years later. - Justin Hampton
