Gilbert Shelton created this full-color poster in 1970 to promote Rip Off Press' HYDROGEN BOMB AND BIOCHEMICAL WARFARE FUNNIES. It features all of Shelton's most popular characters: The Freak Brothers, Wonder Wart-hog, Philbert Desanex, Oat Willie and chickens who have been set free. This is NOT the cover of the comic book. According to Bruce Semans, the image on this poster never appeared anywhere else except in a Rip Off Press mailer where it was much smaller. Even the slogan that runs along the left-hand margin is different from the one on the book. It says “Sniveling Drivel to Shrivel Your Liver!!” instead of “Apocalyptic Apocrypha for Apoplectic Apostates."
