During the summer of 1967 the Yardbirds played their first Canadian concert in the remote, cottage country ski resort- Hidden Valley in Huntsville, Ontario.
This was a ski resort during the winter months and a special "3-D" platform had been constructed for weekend pop concerts during the Summer of '67 that would have been attended by local teens and cottagers.
Keith Relf, Chris Dreja, Jim McCarty, and Jimmy Page arrived by bus directly from New Jersey with their manager Peter Grant only to find that only a few tickets had been sold because of little advance advertising. Note that even the time of the show is missing from the poster- and there was no other form of advertising for this event!
I am sure that you will never see another one of these flyers! The show was horribly advertised, poorly attended and an early glimpse at Jimmy Page live before Led Zeppelin!
It is rumoured that Peter Grant (future manager of the Led Zeppelin ) had a friend in the Hunstville area and the group may have been guests at this friend's cottage. The irony of this hastily put together event was that the Canadian Capitol "Little Games" LP was released in Canada during the following weeks and Capitol in Canada may not even have known that the Yardbirds were in fact performing their first ever concert in Canada.
