"This was a self portrait that I did on one cold, rainy afternoon in Seattle, 1996. I was living in the Marvin Gardens Apartments on 4th and Bell and things were pretty rough, but on the 'upswing'. I don't know what you see in those eyes in the image...but I see pessimism and a melancholy that I just couldn't shake, at the time. I was listening to a lot of THE RUTS and THIN LIZZY around that time."
