This was a promotional poster for the release of The Who's "I Can See For Miles" as a single on Track Records. Originally, it had appeared on their album, "The Who Sell Out". It became a top ten hit and is one of their most enduring songs. The poster shows the group dressed in fanciful clothes, on a high vantage point, invoking magical powers. The art work is remarkable for its use of a double-blending technique: one separation graduates from red to yellow, while another goes from gold to silver.
Web Images cannot adequately display the sheen of the metallic silver ink and overall depth of color in this print. (from SFAL)reprinted by SFAL
