Pencil On Letter Bond (10 in. x 8 in.)
"This was one of the several concept sketches that were the genesis of the 1999 MORRISSEY poster. My original ideas revolved around an actual shot of Morrissey, but none of them had any 'punch'. The idea I eventually went with ('Jack' being burned at the stake) was a total accident: I was just messing around...basically asking myself, 'Wouldn't it be funny if I did this?' and drawing wild, 'out there' ideas on the paper. The 'Jack' image started to come out of my hands...and it was creepy. It was like...'Wow. This is good'. So, the above MORRISSEY sketch (and a couple of others) went back in the flat-file for storage. Until now." -JR
