"Inspired by the tutelage of Prof. Charles Hawkins, my Junior Year High School English teacher. He taught us Moby Dick, Scarlet Letter, Othello, Young Goodman Brown, and Cask of Amontillado among other things. All the Melville lessons really shaped and forever changed how I read books, hear songs, watch movies, or view life. Thanks Doctor Hawkins.
I composed the passage on the poster surrounding Ahab's head and the one between his whalebone leg and the whale surrounding the broken quadrant. So don't break your neck trying to find it in the book.
Inspired by Jack's message in the album, I thought about the process of seeking truth and how badly Ahab goes about it. "
