As a form of experiential and interactive art, video games are an incredible vehicle for storytelling. We love ‘em, and STRAY is one of the most memorable of the last several years.
Developed by BlueTwelve Studios and published by our friends at @annapurnainteractive, STRAY is a work of art. It’s a platformer where you play as a cat, doing all manner of cat things, and explore a neon-infused cybercity inhabited by a robot society and mutant bacteria.
The visual fidelity of the world is brilliant, telling a story not just through gameplay and narrative, but also through the detail of the environment design and atmosphere.
Dániel is one of our favorite artists. His work so effectively and gorgeously balances color and composition with a sci-fi, surrealist, otherworldly lean. He was a natural fit for the world of STRAY, and we couldn’t be happier.
