“Fujin Raijin is a very traditional motif in Japanese art. it means, Wind God, Thunder God. The wind god carries a big sac that has wind inside, and the thunder god have circular drum set on his back.
When I thought of diptych specifically for Japan tour, it has to be modern and pop, but also to celebrate Japan. Something very Japanese, and also something very not Japanese.
The thunder and wind gods make huge noise and badass, on top of that they are a pair, so I thought it was fitting.” Yuko Shimizu
