"They don't make movies like this anymore, and that is one big flesh-disintegrating pie to my heart. When I go to the movies, I want my popcorn to bite back, and that's precisely what happens every time I watch KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE. There's no over-the-top CGI or use of AI that's as lifeless as a cotton-candy-cocoon covered corpse, just the down-to-earth practical effects of the Chiodo Brothers that make this movie feel out of this world. The human-made costumes, makeup, puppetry, use of miniature sets and imaginative set design are, in my opinion, what played such a significant role in bringing the cosmic carnival invasion of Crescent Cove to life, contributing to the film's enduring appeal that crowns it a cult classic in horror cinema. Trying my best to harness the Chiodo Bros' hand-made approach, drawing from the film's blend of carnival aesthetics and comedic horror that feels like a live-action cartoon assault on my senses, when designing this poster, I sought to mirror the movie's delightful yet disconcerting atmosphere in a hand-drawn cartoon style fit for echoing the sentiment: "It's not a circus act, it's a nightmare!”

"Much like the circus itself, KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE is a spectacle from a bygone era. You might recognize Lance Inkwell’s work on the vintage-animation inspired video game CUPHEAD. Revisiting these iconic alien clowns in his Fleischer Studios-inspired style, Lance puts a three-ring circus spotlight on their funniest scenes in this classic cult film. Well I’ll be greased and fried … I can already taste the burnt popcorn and hear the calliope music comin’ down the road!"
