This is the earliest image amongst the Warriors, with the original drawing dating from 1996. In a pre-digital age it was created on paper, sent to the printers but never came back, so in 2023 Hewlett remade the artwork. Tank Girl was the artist’s breakthrough moment and ignited the imagination of a whole generation by presenting the first exciting woman-led comic. Tank Girl is anarchic, out of control and happy to meet our gaze head-on, even as she sits on the toilet.
