I’ve had this image floating around for years, well before we had to say goodbye to Halley, but it always seemed to get bumped by other obligations. For various reasons that shifted and this image became a priority for me.
I’m more enamored with simple scenes from everyday life lately, or at least my everyday life. Watching the way the light falls differently from room to room as I traverse the length of my studio. Cool white brick against deep warm wood tones, pushing depth in a confined tight composition. Convincing myself not everything needs melting eyeballs and dancing divers (nothing wrong with those though). All thoughts that crossed my mind while working on this one.
The overall theme of these new works is “subtlety”. Compared to my usual bold linocut style, I think this one fits the theme nicely. I hope you enjoy.
