"Although Motunui is a fictitious place, it is undoubtedly inspired by themes and imagery found in traditional Polynesian cultures. Understandably, we can't help but to think of our friends, artists, colleagues, and fellow citizens who have been affected by the devastating wild fires in Maui, Hawaii. To send Aloha to those in need as Hawaii responds to this tragedy, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each sale of this Moana screen-print edition to the ongoing relief effort in Maui.

Daniel joined Pixar Animation Studios back in 2001 as a Production Assistant in Simulation & Effects on Monster's Inc. and soon became the Production Assistant on the Academy Award winning The Incredibles. Later on, he made the leap over to the art department as a Sketch Artist on Ratatouille, contributing to the character and set designs. He continued on in Pixar's art department on numerous other award-winning feature films like WALL•E and Up, and later became Character Art Director for Toy Story 3.

In 2009, Daniel began working with Walt Disney Animation Studios as a Visual Development Artist on Wreck-It-Ralph and as an Art Director for Prep and Landing 2. In 2011, he rejoined Pixar as a Character Designer on Academy Award-winning Inside Out, and served as the Character Art Director on the studio's original film Coco for which he won an Annie Award.

He has recently returned again to Walt Disney Animation Studios and is currently serving as Art Director of Characters on Moana the Series, which is set to debut on Disney+ in 2024."
