Quite a while ago I grabbed some Dayglo inks off of my letterpress friend Chris. I'd held onto them, never really feeling there was a perfect use for them until now. Spafford plays the indescribable Meow Wolf Santa Fe tonight, and what better way to mark the occasion than by using these wonderful eye popping colors. HIghly blacklight reactive and super vibrant, these posters try to capture the essence of a moment when the lights are shining in that wonderful room and Spafford washes over the crowd. I carved the name of the band 37 times over 4 different blocks. Printing these blocks over each other leads to many fun color combinations and a sense of depth, which is amplified when viewed under a UV light. This is a print I have wanted to make for a long time, an ode to letterpress & Spafford. Hope everyone has a fantastic time this evening!
