Some years ago I was asked to design a book cover for a new edition of Treasure Island, a book by Robert Louis Stevenson originally published in the 1880s. I got my little chisel and carved a sheet of linoleum into a picture, and then the designer and publisher David Pearson* added blue and gold to create the book's cover. And now, years later I have recreated this version and produced it as a screen print. And it's quite pretty, I might venture.
*David Pearson is a fabulously talented book designer and you really should look him up. His cover for 1984 is the best yet created.
