"We're often too distracted by what we want to see, to actually look deeper. Although this piece was mainly influenced by Black Band Disease impacting corals, I tried to convey a much wider scope of influence with this deteriorating oceanic relic. There is a true beauty and wonder worth celebrating when gazing upon our oceans. However, a tragic upset swells beneath its surface. What will be left to gaze upon if we keep choosing to be distracted?" -Matt Ryan Tobin
