The many different objects surrounding the door remind us of the many characters we will meet in the Land of Oz—much how the Gale’s farmhands: Hunk, Hickory, and Zeke dropped hints and laid the groundwork for us meeting their Oz counterparts: Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion.
