From the Rosenstock's: This is the second print in our American Roots series. I had this series designed years ago but only got around to printing the Townes print back then. (Just pulled last 5 Townes prints out of flat files and listed online).
Elizabeth Cotten, a lefty, taught herself to play a righty guitar upside down and backwards. She wrote her song Freight Train at 11 years old! A chance encounter lead her to a job as a house keeper for the Seeger family. They discovered her playing and Mike began recording her music. She was in her 60’s and began touring the country as one of the greatest folk singers of her time.
