"I created the original painting for a group show curated by my friend Luke Pelletier. The bright colors and utilizing line work for the figure makes this piece one of my favorites and different than most of my paintings. Since it was for a group show, the painting was a one off and used as a way to explore different ways to approach a painting. I’m pretty sure this didn’t even start as a sketch, but rather jumped straight to the panel with a concept in mind. Sometimes it's nice to not have an exact plan - it gives you the ability to make mistakes or learn something new." - Jillian Evelyn
