Our Grateful Dead Artist Series has been a long-form project that has allowed us to work with so many artists we admire--some who we’ve consistently worked with in the past, and some brand new to Bottleneck. This Friday, we’re welcoming Murugiah to Bottleneck with one of the most wildly psychedelic releases we’ve ever had!
Murugiah’s art--pardon the cliche--defies categorization, and is a wild mixture of candy shop colors and kaleidoscopically arranged imagery. Murugiah hails from the UK, with Sri Lanken heritage, so funneling the classic Grateful Dead’s symbols and mascots and music through his unique perspective has been an absolutely wonderful trip. We’ve also created a lenticular of Murugiah’s Grateful Dead poster, because the image damn well demands it!
As a quick refresher from our previous lenticular releases, we’re currently offering two versions:
A thinner (1mm), flexible PET lenticular print mounted on dense paper backing
A thick lenticular print (4mm), akin to plexi-glass, called polystyrene. We call this one Lenticular Plex for differentiation.
