2nd Edition 2019: Taken from the series 'London Views', which is a panorama of London being destroyed by fire and flood carved in lino in a quasi-Mediaeval style. The work was made in 2006, thirteen years ago, and once more seems deeply apposite, as the United Kingdom sets about an incomprehensible process of self-immolation. The black is very shiny and the white is just about perceptible !
Two colour hand-pulled screen print.
Edition of 100.
Print size 340mm x 520mm (approx).
Paper size 420mm x 640mm.
Numbered and signed by the artist.
Blind-embossed with the Slowly Downward Manufactory seal.
£150.00Whilst arranging things during some renovations at the studio, we were compelled to move a large number of boxes from one place to another, and as this was happening it seemed reasonable to investigate the contents of these boxes. We found many things, including a number of prints that had been completely forgotten about. The prints in this section are small in number, but relatively charming, if you like this kind of thing - a quasi-Mediaeval woodcut style, with familiar London landmarks in flames as a tumultuous flood sweeps along the thames.
please note: all these are now sold out. sorry.
This is one of a few small screenprints which we found during studio renovations at the end of the summer. Originally part of a set sold in a box, there are only a very few of these and I've signed and stamped them. They are hand-screenprinted onto paper which is partly made with recycled banknotes, fragments of which are visible on the surface of the paper.
