After far too long away from my beloved graphite I've returned to them in the portrayal of one of my most beloved British owls, the Little Owl. I love the timeless quality of graphite and the close connection between myself and the subject with only a pencil in hand, the directness of the medium really allows me to explore the tiniest detail and pull out each feather and render it to my hearts contentment.
