"So I did this piece originally for a show at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. When they asked me to be in the show, I immediately thought of my good friend Wesley Von Burn. He grew up, and lived most of his life, in Danvers, Salem, and Beverly, and when I first met him he was working at the Peabody Essex. Unfortunately he passed away young, and I had wanted to do a piece in memory of him for a while. This seemed like the perfect opportunity, since it would be hanging in the place he used to work. The car in this piece, a Buick Roadmaster, is one that he owned, and in the last years of his life he had joined the Masons and had a simile decal on this car. The masons were a big part of his life, and so I wanted to include a nod to them in this painting." - Scott Listfield
