Liverpool Biennial is delighted to announce Dazzle, 2016 a limited edition silkscreen print created by British Pop artist Sir Peter Blake. The work relates to his 2015 commission, Everybody Razzle Dazzle, for which he transformed the Mersey Ferry Snowdrop into a moving artwork.

The symbols used in the limited edition print are ones that regularly appear in Blake's art: a star, a target and a rainbow. These are prevalent in many of his early works, such as Love Wall, 1961. He has recently reclaimed them as 'Peter Blake Pop Art Incorporated', bringing them back into his practice and showcasing them to new audiences. The symbols are reflective of the artist's signature style in colour, monochrome and shape.

Sir Peter Blake (b. 1932) is a leading figure in the development of British Pop art and his work is synonymous with the use of imagery from modern culture, including comic books, consumer goods and advertisements. Blake has a strong relationship with Liverpool that extends beyond his famous design of The Beatles’ album cover Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967.

Everybody Razzle Dazzle, 2015 is commissioned by Liverpool Biennial, 14-18 NOW: First World War Centenary Art Commissions and Tate Liverpool, in partnership with Merseytravel and National Museums Liverpool.
