"As a child, my close friend often went to Italy with his parents to watch the 'Palio race', a horse race held since 1287 in Siena, a city in Tuscany, Italy. I had never heard of this race before, but through my friend I got to know more about it! After every holiday my friend would return and tell me fascinating stories about what happened on race day, and my imagination went crazy as if I was there!! My friend had small toy figures of the horses and the jockeys, and we would re-enact the races. These great memories are the inspiration for my latest series 'The Winning Jockey'" -- Joachim
