"The Dead has a lot of traditional imagery they like to use (Dead bears, roses, Uncle Sam, etc..) but I have always been keen on their surf imagery over the years mostly provided by artist Rick Griffin in the 70’s & 80’s. The beachy vibe of the venue being down in the San Diego area felt like the perfect setting for me to try and give my own surfy spin on the Steal Your Face.
Some folks have reached out me asking about the '12-point Lightning Bolt' on the latest Dead & Company poster...I understand your concerns but don’t you worry, we didn’t forget the 13th. We are heads and know the deal. The Lightning bolt was stylized to mix in w/ the pattern of the water...its there."
Prints sold at the show were unsigned. Show edition prints #51-100 were held back, signed, and sold by the artist on 7/12/18 for $75ea.
