Acrylic on board""Whatza-Whoozitz" Jones was thought to be part cat, part dog, and definitely part con-man. He was a confidence practitioner of the highest order who learned his trade on the mean streets of New York in the 1890s. Originally he started out as a small time street hustler with a shell game and three-card Monty. He moved his way up to real estate scams and bank fraud and by the roaring 1920s he ran a large operation with 33 operators at his beck and call. Just before the great depression, he was caught trying to sell the Brooklyn Bridge." -- Louie
