"I bit the text for these posters from the Finnish epic The Kalevala. The Kalevala is a collection of ancient stories passed down through oral tradition—primarily through song. The stories include the Finnish creation myth as well as others about how the earth’s flora and fauna were created. I often lift passages from this text because of the enigmatic quality of the poetry. In this case, I chose two passages that describe attributes of cats and of dogs."
