"My friend L. Crowsky, has noted several trends concerning the buying and selling of art in the LA "underground" art scene while currating his show, the Cannibal Flower. One of these observations is that paintings of girls, skulls, and monkeys almost always sell. This painting is inspired by that trend.
Using the japanese money cat, "Maneki Neko", as the foundation, I switched the species and replaced his gold tablet with a brush and palette. As a finishing touch, I added the same little red dots used to indicate that a piece of art has sold for its pupils."
