Goblin disguised as an insect. They can miniaturize themselves to the size of mice and pretend to be common beetles, but their size still gives them away...
Also, when they are attacked by the usual predators of insects, they are forced to defend themselves rather aggressively. Exploding birds and toads are not uncommon sights in fields infested with shape-changing goblins.
