Jones was an acclaimed fantasy artist and illustrator whose original works are extremely sought-after by collectors. Jones was among the most respected and collected artists of the last 50 years era. Fantasy art icon Frank Frazetta was once quoted as deeming Jones "the greatest living painter" and this was no small praise coming from a creator as great as Frazetta. Jones' passing in 2011 was a great loss to the art and comic world.
