Working title: Medusa in the Garden of Good and Evil, an Homage to Helen Stratton
Artwork is a reworked image from turn of the century Nouveau illustrator Helen Stratton. Stratton's ink drawings, done for many books in the late 1800's, have always been a favorite. I stumbled across the illustration that inspired this work in the book "Songs for Little People" from 1896 that had been released into the public domain. I decided to take it on a weird trip by freeform reworking it and see where it would take me. I'm pretty happy with the way it manifested.
