Mitch was collecting data on animal life from the planet Earth on a routine science expedition when he came across the most adorable little creature. He spotted it in the window of a storefront that had lots of small animals inside. It was a pet store and the animal in question was a pug dog, the runt of the litter. He decided to tag this specimen, so he could track it. Mitch was rather enormous in stature and did not blend in well with the surroundings. In order to accomplish this task unnoticed, he put the inhabitants of a small town in a trance like state of hibernation. After an hour or so, they would come out of and notice the "lost time". He would do this every year at exactly the same time to check in on the pug and every year the town folk would recognize the mysterious "lost hour". Every so often, his sensors would detect that the pug was sick, and he would make an emergency trip back to Earth to cure him. He would also revive him every 13 years or so as the pug dog's life would almost run out. The owners of the pug were becoming very suspicious as the pug continued to have an unusually long life for a dog. As Mitch continued to visit the dog, it outlived its original owners and was passed down through several generations. The "missing time" became an annual event in the small town and was celebrated with a carnival including a fireworks display.
