"Calling this one “Georgia Boyâ€. I grew up in Waco, Texas until the summer of sixth grade. However, I was born in Albany, Georgia. I left shortly after my first birthday, yet fate boomeranged me back for 8th grade on up. I’ve now lived in Austin for around 20 years, so I’ve been a Texan most of my life.
Pondering which granfalloon I belong to, I realize I generally tell folks I’m from Georgia despite my cumulative residence in the Lone Star State. Georgia is where the big shitz post adolescent events of my life were processed (dating, driving, drinking, and whatever else was covered on The Wonder Years). That shit counts more I guess in establishing what you identify as home over riding bikes and catching insects." -- Rob Jones
