Fresh off his monumental sculptural exhibition at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the UK, highly acclaimed artist KAWS will be debuting a completely new large-scale sculpture for the first time in Bangkok, Thailand in partnership with the iconic lifestyle destination, Central Embassy, where the new installation will be on display from 30 June to 31 July 2016.
Working with long time collaborator AllRightsReserved, who curated the successful installations “PASSING THROUGH†and “CLEAN SLATE†in Hong Kong and Shanghai, "KAWS: BFF" is one of the artist’s largest sculptures to date, standing at 8 meters tall. An acronym for “Best Friend Foreverâ€, the title “BFF†evokes the close and lasting friendships of our youth. While reminiscent of the artist’s iconic “COMPANION†figure, featuring his trademark soft skull with crossbones and crossed-out eyes, “BFF†sports a furry appearance—unprecedented for the artist—introducing an ironic twist along with fresh creative elements.
