"This piece was created for the 'Giant Robot Biennale 4' exhibition at the Japanese National American Museum in Los Angeles. It is part of my americana signage series from 2015. I enjoy the decayed signs that I saw around the cities in different states. I think there is something magical about them and I like seeing objects and items which I can feel the sense of time and history.
Instead of having the signage represent commercial name of services, I decided to use the phrasing or English wording that I enjoy and have a positive message of some sort. For this I picked a song from one of my favorite Japanese punk band Hi-Standard. They covered the classic song 'California Dreamin’' and turned into a punk song." - Yoskay Yamamoto
