This is the twelfth image in the “Extincion†series. A collection of prints attempting to take on the subjects of climate change, the destruction of ecosystems, plants, animals, and our contribution as a species to this devastation.
On this Linoleum blockprint the northern hairy-nosed wombat (Lasiorhinus krefftii) is depicted. Like most of the other species in the Extincion series the Nortthern hairy-nosed wombat largest threat is loss of habitat, predation, competition for food, disease, floods, droughts and wildfires. These wombats are under critically endangered status and there is little hope for them to last even another decade in wild state.
