This is the tenth image in the “Extincion” series. A collection of prints attempting to take on the subjects of climate change, the destruction of ecosystems, plants, animals, and our contribution as a species to this devastation.

On this Linoleum blockprint the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus), also known as the Andean bear is depicted. Like most of the other species in the Extincion series the Andean Bear’s largest threat is loss of habitat, farming and hunting. These bears are under vulnerable status while there is very little interest to creating a conservation program for their survival in many of the countries they inhabit.
