This is the second image of the “Extincion†series: a collection of prints attempting to take on the subjects of climate change, the destruction of ecosystems, plants, animals, and our contribution as a species to this devastation.
On this linoleum blockprint, the California Condor (Gymnogyps californianus) is depicted. Its huge 3.0 m (9.8 ft) wingspan is the largest of any North American bird, and its weight of up to 12 kg. In the 20th century the California Condor population dropped to only 22 in the wild.
