"The imagery for this print was inspired by the song, “Gonna Know We Were Hereâ€, where the lyrics tell about a couple who’s relationship is so passionate, that it will leave it’s own mark on history and be remembered for ages. Running with that concept, we wanted to create a narrative similar to that of the famous criminal duo, Bonnie and Clyde, who met their end in a shoot out with the cops. We also wanted to enforce this wasn’t just from any crime scene, but that there was also a love story buried within the wreckage, by including smaller details like the locket on the rear view mirror, and a woman’s scarf caught on the antenna. It’s fairly common to encounter scenes similar to this around the midwest. One minute you’re enjoying a walk through the woods, and the next you come across some rusted out piece of machinery that’s been overtaken by nature, and all you can do is wonder how it got there, and what’s the story behind it."
